Artists Statement
Judy Rochester has been a community tutor for many years, specialising in environmental art. She has worked in schools, collages, day centres, stroke clubs, youth clubs etc and has had her work exhibited in several exhibitions in the West of England and Cumbria
She is passionate about environmental issues including recycling, energy saving and nature conservation as well as local and family history research. She finds re-using “waste” creatively a challenge and old yellow pages books, plastic bottles and packaging can be turned into art forms using little more than a bit of glue, old beads and fabric. If she can add a bit of poetry or calligraphy to the object so much the better!
She is currently a volunteer at Allerdale COSC, the National Trust and The Settlement
